Get a head start on party season.
With under a month to go, there's no time like the present to start thinking about your Christmas party outfits - especially as we need to make up for last year's cancelled plans. The joy of attending social events has very much been reinstated, but with it comes the ubiquitous ‘what I am going to wear?’ If you are stuck for inspiration, keep scrolling for my personal stylist picks. From dresses to trousers, velvet to sequins, minis to maxis, there’s a Christmas party outfit to be found for all this season, for all budgets.
Suits You
If a dress isn’t your thing, opt for a trouser suit instead. Best worn with a cami, sandal, or pointy shoe or boot with a stiletto or kitten heel, pointy always looks far more stylish than a round toe shoe. Finish off with some statement earrings.
Wear as separates after Christmas, with the blazer dressing up jeans, or add a blouse to trousers.
Cocktail Hour
The cocktail dress works well for drinks and dinner that require dressing up, but not to evening gown standard. Best worn with a heel, be it kitten, high or block, in a sandal or shoe style. Metallic and nude shoes are super versatile as they go with all colours and prints.
The Anthropologie style comes in many colours in both velvets and silky fabrics. A glam comfy dress, that works well for summer weddings in the silky fabric.
Disco Diva
If short and tight is your thing, there are plenty of styles to choose from this year. From marabou trimmed shifts, to co-ords to sparkly sequin numbers. Wear with strappy sandals or sky scraper platform shoes for maximum effect.
Belle Of The Ball
For black tie events opt for longer maxi styles (jumpsuits and suits also work). Add shaping underwear from brands such as Skims or Spanx, to create a streamline effect. Shoes can be plainer, as the dress is the star of the show.

All the below dresses, plus many more and designer bags are available to rent through Hurr. It is worth noting though that unfortunately once you get past a size 14, the choice is limited. Currently this is an issue for all clothing rental companies.
