Staycation In Style

What To Wear For A British Staycation This Summer.

Unless you are up for a umpteem covid tests and the possibility your country of choice may switch from green to amber or red whilst on holiday, most of us will be holidaying in the UK this summer. Just because you’re not leaving the UK though, doesn’t mean you have to miss out on a great holiday wardrobe. Your favourite sundresses and sandals can still be packed, but layering is key to any British getaway, so an addition of jeans, knitwear, rain jacket and trainers a must. Choose colours that all sit together and make sure you include a pair of neutral sandals that go with multiple outfits.

The idea, with the perfect staycation wardrobe, is that once you’ve reached your destination, you don’t have to give it a second thought. You should be able to easily go from one activity to another without feeling like you’re ill-prepared. Here are a few styling ideas to get you started.

The Seaside Sojourn

A trip to the British coast needs a versatile wardrobe that can take you from blazing hot days to cooler evenings. With a basket or tote bag essential to carry all your layers. A sundress plus cardigan is an easy win.

A Countryside Retreat

For countryside walks and picnics, think an easy throw on dress, a rain coat (just in case) with a pair of trainers or ‘dad’ sandals for practicalities.

Summer In The City

Whether jumping on a train or playing tourist in your own town, an on-trend yet comfortable look is key. Shorts if the weather is warm, swap for trousers if chilly, paired with a blouse, fisherman sandals and a cross body bag can take you to a multitude of smart and casual venues.
