Wedding Guest and Royal Ascot Outfits

What To Wear For Special Occasions, Weddings & Royal Ascot 2022

Weddings and special occasions took a real hit over the past two pandemic years, with mass cancellations and scaling back events to a handful of people. The opportunity to dress up was pretty much non-existent for most of us.  This spring summer however we can (keeping everything crossed here) look forward to a whole host of events from weddings to Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot.

Over the course of the past couple years styles, tastes, body shapes may have changed, or you may want a new look, so the burning questions is what to wear? An option I always advise my personal styling clients of is renting, especially if you think you might only wear your outfit once or twice. Rental companies  Hurr, Rotaro, My Wardrobe HQ and By Rotation all have collections full wedding, party and race going wear. The down side is that sizing can be limited, and you may be worried about not being able to let your hair down in case of a mishap.

If that’s the case or you’re looking to invest in an outfit. Below are some looks to start off your search.

Versatile Dress

This Rixo dress can be worn to all enclosures and both rural and city weddings. Best of all depending on your footwear and accessories can be worn for special occasions and lunches/dinners with family and friends.

Trouser Suit

Works for all Royal Ascot enclosures and chic wedding guest attire for a city wedding at home or abroad.

Pretty Feminine Dress

This gorgeous designer dress by Preen works for all enclosures and will look worn to rural, beach (change shoes to flats) and city weddings.

Body Con Dress

Due to the straps unless you keep the jacket on at all times this works best for the Windsor enclosure, where uncovered shoulders are acceptable. This dress works well for more urban/city weddings.
